There are currently a number of planning applications affecting Hollington including SMDC identifying two development sites for approx 13 new dwellings, despite many applications over recent years being refused for single dwellings.
The purpose of this web site is to make Hollington Residents aware of the SMDC proposals and to invite your input to ensure any concerns or proposals can be represented
Checkley Parish Council are compiling “A Neighbourhood Development Plan. ” which will set out the vision for an area, and planning policies for the use and development of land within an area.
Checkley Parish Council have determined that each ward should form its own consultative forum to represent that ward, and, put forward the ideas and concerns of the local residents.
Neighbourhood planning is a right for communities introduced through the Localism Act 2011. Communities can shape development in their areas through the production of Neighbourhood Development Plans, which gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. They are able to choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built, have their say on what those new buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided, and grant planning permission for the new buildings they want to see go ahead.
Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community where the ambition of the neighbourhood is aligned with the strategic needs and priorities of the wider local area.
There is no limit ( higher or lower ) as to the number of local residents or stakeholders having an input – all that is needed is an interest in the village and its development in the future.
